Eddie cochran complete sessions

EDDIE COCHRAN  COMPLETE  STORY

The beginning of this blog, it reflects Eddie's meetings, his official discography and recordings of record others, which Eddie appears as musician of study. These doubtful topics included in the paragraphs of private recordings, are selections of Eddie's possible colaboration and his guitar. Great part of this material has been studied, some with sufficient documentation to accredit them, others have been qualified auditiv by me. This material has been  after many years of work and with the collaboration of my friend Timo Runner, who to collaborated largely of the particular material. With this blog, I try to make Eddie's discography more extensive, with the collaboration of everything that one that wants to do it inside this blog, to do rectifications,Collaborations, information and everything related to Eddie's history. Thank you for the dedicated attention. A greeting.

  1. Hi José!
A great blog you're working on.
Wonderful to find someone new who is interested in Eddies music.

The guitar on Eddie Bonds "Talking off the Wall" is played by Hank Garland. No Eddie involvment.
    Regards.

  2. Hello Uli Kisker, thanks for your nice comment. I have checked your information thoroughly, have come to the conclusion, that Eddie Bonds " Talking off the Wall " is not Eddie who interprets the guitar. Is of datre the reason, and to be grateful for your nice collaboration to you. In this one there is listened a style of guitar very similar to Eddie and always I thought that eddie was the guitarist in " Talking off the Wall " Thank you for everything. Please do not hesitate to rectify me if I commit another mistake in the future, hereby I will be able to realize a good work in the future. It receives a greeting. Kisker

  3. Hello Josè,
now, there are some other conjectural informations, I want to comment:
The Quarter Notes - Like You Bug Me (Joe South on guitar),
Dick Bills - Rockin' And Rolin' (Glen Champbell on guitar, Dicks uncle. The recording dates from 1961),
Jimmy Spellman - Doggonit (Al Casey on guitar, documented on the Dot label of single 15607),
Jack Lewis - My Honest Name (Eddie was on the unissued demo. Jack Lewis did his released re-recording without Eddie).
So far. Check it and let me know. There are many open-end questions!

I have no valid infos or ideas to: Behind The Swinging Doors, My Beat Generation, He Will Come Back To Me, Heartbreak Harry, Camel Rock, Freight Train and I Can't Wait. I'd heard this songs (first is unknown to me) again and again, but I think there's no Eddie.
    Regards.

  4. Vallued Kisker I am grateful For You very much, your valuable help and comments. A lot of for time I am looking for Eddie's possible collaborations for different record stamps. Unfortunately I do not have too much information, except any comments in forums and pages. I have to say that these recordings that I put as Eddie's possible actions, I check them largely auditivamente and others under information. I am grateful for your collaboration to rectify these topics inside ls Eddie's discography. With this end, I try to make Eddie's career more wide and interesting. Please I am grateful for your collaboration, and if you wish it we can discuss more insertions inside this blog, in a future. I possess great quantity of confused topics, in which Eddie could be. Please notDo not stop checking them. Jack lewis's topic my honest name and the topic of camel David Seville's rock, I will leave them in the list for considering them to be Eddie's collaboration in these. The rest I will eliminate them of my list, considering that these are documented. Thank you once again. Up to another Kisker The Quarter Notes (12-57) Like You Bug Me* (And. René-R.Ornales) Dot 15685 MW-10370 Please Come Home (R.Ornales) Dot 15685 MW-10371 * It was supposed for to long steals that Eddie is " Like You Bug Me ", but Tony Freer spoke to two of the members of the Quarter - Notice. Both of them said that the recordings were made in Atlanta at Bill Lowery studio. It is Joe South on Guitar and Ray Stevens on piano. Dick Bills - Rockin 'And Rolin' (Glen Champbell on guitar, Dicks uncle. The recording date back from 1961), Jimmy Spellman - Doggonit (Al Casey on guitar, documented on the Dot label of single 15607

  5. Hallo José,
thank you for your answer. I'm interested in collaboration very well. I'm in loose contact with Antoon Van Olderen too. I'm also interested in investigations to get a complete illustration of Eddie's work at last. In my opinions i'm very close to Antoon and Tapio Väisänen. I hope you have also noticed my website meanwhile.

  8. Hi Josè,
1.: on "Do Baby Do" by Johnny Burnette Joe Maphis plays the guitar. Only the rhythm guitar is unknown. (see: http://burnettebrothers.user.fr)
2.: There is no (!) advice or valid information that Eddie is on any Wynn Stewart recording (except great CAPITOL F-3515 single). Wynn himself was an amazing guitar player.
3.: Ronny McBee's "I'll be waiting for you" sounds very similar but how to get the conclusive evidence?
4.: Most of your new entries are unknown to me. Specifications on some bootlegs we always must deal with care.
    5. If it's possible send me a sound file of "Susie" by Willy Nelson (a cousin of Ricky Nelson)[khundalini@t-online.de]
    All the best!
    Uli

PS: Any informations of: "I'm Impressed/Our Star" by Carole & Connie, composed by Ray Stanley, produced by Jerry Capehart on IMPERIAL X5514 (1958) ?? Nothing to find in the net.

  9. Hello Uli, with reference to Johnny burnette do baby do, I believe very possibly Eddie's intervention in the second guitar, the sharpest. Thank you for this informative page of Bear family. Unfortunately, we do not have too much exact information about each of the mentioned recordings. My intention in this blog, is to compile the maximum information to accredit all this material that I am including to go out of doubts and to do that Eddie's discography is more extensive. I understand that it is very delicate to award recordings to Eddie. To part of little information that I see in Internet, alone I can include my auditory valuation, to part of obtaining comments as yours. Thank you once again for helping to clarify these doubts of these recordings.
Wynn steward, Ronny Mcbee I consider Eddie's collaboration in these, expect to find the information adapted to confirm them. The new income that I realize little by little are it extracted of comments with friends of the forum in Internet, own conclusions (auditory study) and my friend Timo Runner, who I consider an authentic expert of Eddie's music. Thanks to all that I can esponer this material for study. The asterisk in the included topics, refers to the doubt in Eddie's collaboration.
I am sorry not to be able to offer you specific information for the present. I am employed at it. Ire increasing information to each one of these recordings exposed in this blog. I regret not having any more time to improve to the maximum new income and information.

Please, do not stop visiting this blog, to help myself to including information. I am grateful very much for your colavoración.

Great lament not to be able to offer this auditory material (except found in youtube) great part of this material extra, belongs to the collection deprived of my friend Timo Runner.

I wait for your comprehension. Thank you once again in your time dedicated to this blog.

Wishing the better thing you, it receives a greeting. Your friend cybernaut

  10. Hello Uli, with regard to " I'm Impressed/Our Star " by Carole and Connie was not knowing this information. I can offer you neither opinion nor information. With regard to Carole and connie I possess an interesting topic. Pretty teen rockaballad 1958, upper seats on coach I do not possess information in the matter, neither I locate information in Internet on carole and connie. Only with comments in the network and listening to the topic I deduce that Eddie could have taken part in the rhythmic guitar.

  11. Hallo José,
you're busy working on your blog!
    Two comments:
This is the "Young Men Four: Don't be bashful, little girl/Goodbye, bye, bye, bye" single.
    Produced by Dale Fitzsimons.
    Musicians:
    Gib Guilbeau
    Darrell Cotton
    Wayne Moore
    Ernie Williams
    Dale Fitzsimons: piano
    Jesse Sailes: drums
This recordings were made after Eddies death.
    Info: Gib Guilbeaus website (http://www.burritobrother.com/ymf.htm)

    "Cool Juice" by Tommy Law.
Eddie was present and plays the guitar solo on "Loose Juice" (15. June 1957). "Cool Juice" was re-recorded in 1958. Eddies guitar original solo was used again as overdub.
(You can cut out both solos, and copy them into a two channel stereo track, one for the right and one for the left channel. When you hear this "stereo" edit, you'll find both tracks are absolutly identical).
Eddie is also not on the B-side "Look at that baby".

    Best wishes!

  13. Hello Uli, thanks for this interesting information. With regard to Don't be bashful, little girl, always and I thought that Eddie acted in this recording that later was published in 1962. Since it happens at present many recordings are published by posteriority to his creation. But on having seen the information that you me contribute, I have decided to withdraw this topic of the list. With regard to cool juice and loose juice, you have reason that is the same guitar used in both. Thank you for your interesting contribution. We continue little by little ampiando and extracting doubts on Eddie's collaboration with other artists.
    Best wishes!

  15. Hi José,
an additional note to "Camel Rock".
David Seville, real name "Ross" Bagdasarian, was friend with Mark McIntyre and recorded on LIBERTY at the same time. McIntyre was the father of Patience and Prudence and hired Eddie for recording "I Should" with Mike Clifford. McIntyre and Bagdasarian wrote together "Little Wheel" recorded by Patience and Prudence. This is a clue that Bagdasarian had a nodding acquaintance with Eddie.
But I don't think that Eddie is on "Camel Rock" the guitar solos are very jazzy and don't sound very familar (and it seems to be no Gretch or Martin guitar ?).
    Best wishes.

    1. Hello Uli. to apologize in the time that I have been late in answering. This of the vacations and others. With reference to David Seville. I have thought of putting this topic inside my blog, for the comment that Ron McClement does in his page of another side was he a cleanly square, set of instruments " the Rock of Camel ", with a pair soloes of guitar really good, out of his site [Eddie the man of session, maybe?]. To part of including this comment in the page of Tapio eddie cochran connection. I believe that Eddie has something that to see. To part of his G6120, and Martin, Eddie used, in scene and I study different guitars Gibson etc. The style of the Camel's alone ones rock they resemble Eddie. I decide to include it in my blog for the present up to having more information. I have a great list of new topics
That shortly I will be including. To have if I decide. Thank you Uli, a greeting, the better thing...

  18. Just wish to add my piece regarding some recordings that Eddie is supposed to be on, or involved in. I wish to confirm that he is NOT involved with any of the following - G Notes, Danny Willams on Pilot, certainly a different Eddie Cochran, Ricky Page, Galen Denny. All confirmed via letters or telephone conversations with individuals. The Pilot recording was confirmed with the bandleader "black" who advised Cochran was an older man. Thanks, Tony.

Thanks Tony for your valuable information. as I mention in the list, some songs included by other artists, have specified the possibility without being certain, the collaboration of Eddie with his guitar. I do not want to get confused. All this was extracted over time, from information via the web, which I have been compiling throughout this. Thanks to you, we can reiterate or nullify Eddie's collegiality, who was an excellent studio musician for other record labels of the time. thank you very much for your input Tony. from here greetings, the best !!!!

  20. Hi Jose,

I really appreciate the work you have put in to this site! Very nice. I learnt quite a few things. For example, I didn’t realise jelly bean and don’t bye bye baby me were recorded so late, and always thought they were pre 20 flight rock. So, great to learn new stuff as am very particular in my dating my music I own, and like to keep some of my playlists in chronological order. Thanks again, great work. Also, just out of interest, do you have any idea why he calls his his version of the third man, the fourth man theme?

    1. Hello Dom, thank you for your comment, it has been very nice to read your text. With reference to the fourth man, I can not answer exactly, Anton Karas, called his subject the subject of the third man to include in the film, I guess after the success obtained, Ediie recorded his version renamed the fourth man, (including the same ) . I am not sure about the latter, but you can ask for example in this address that I show you, inviting you to be part of our group of Eddie in FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/eddiecochranfanclubuniversal/. receive a greeting apologizing for taking so long to answer.
